TV show director Mukesh Kumar Singh’s Mahabharat went on-air in the year 2013. The show featured Shaheer Sheikh, Ankit Mohan, Paras Arora, Vin Rana and many other big actors portraying the iconic characters of the epic on the small screen. But now, the director wants to recreate Mahabharat. But this time his wish is not limited to the small screen, rather he has decided to bring it to the big screen.

‘Mahabharata’ will be made again

Yes, you read it right! A film is going to be made on Mahabharata. And it will be made by none other than Mukesh Kumar Singh himself. Fans will get to see the story of Mahabharata again after 10 years. But with a new look and new attitude. Mukesh Kumar Singh, who recently directed the pan-India film ‘Kannappa’, has revealed that he is planning to make Mahabharata on the big screen. The director has planned to make it in three parts.

Speaking to ETimes, Mukesh Kumar Singh said, “I am planning to make it in three parts, which will begin next October. Sequels are common these days and I have already planned a sequel for this project. Mahabharat is such a vast and epic saga that it is almost impossible to capture its essence in just three parts, let alone one film. I want to cast actors who are not dominated by the characters and who are completely dedicated to the project.”

The epic will be seen on the big screen

Mukesh also admitted that he has a deep interest in Hindu mythology and history. Hence, he wants to bring Mahabharat to the big screen with a strong cast and a strong script. A few weeks ago, the cast of the show had a reunion to mark the completion of 10 years of Mahabharat. The photos of the reunion went viral on social media.

Mukesh Kumar Singh’s recently released film ‘Kannappa’ stars Vishnu Manchu, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Madhu, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu in important roles. The film is scheduled to release in December 2024.
