Threats to bomb Vistara flight from Delhi to Hyderabad
The series of threats against bombers did not stop. In another case, a bomb threat was received against a Vistara aircraft. Subsequently, the plane made an emergency landing. The plane was taken to Jaipur Airport. Flight UK829 from Delhi to Hyderabad has been diverted to Jaipur. Vistara Airlines notified the threat via a tweet and wrote that flight UK829 from Delhi to Hyderabad has been diverted to Jaipur.
Let us tell you that in the last 11 days, around 250 Air India flights received bomb threats. This week, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the government planned to take legislative action to tackle bomb threats to airlines.
Government works to identify fake calls
The government is taking false bomb threat messages and phone calls seriously. The government has begun identifying those who made the threats. According to sources, the government has termed such cases as of public interest and called on top multinational technology companies to cooperate in identifying those behind such fake calls.
Government actions in response to threats
On October 16, the central government doubled the number of air police on the ground. The home minister has asked the aviation ministry to provide a report on the false threats. Additionally, on October 9, CEOs from all airlines held a meeting to discuss how to deal with false threats. Apart from this, the inconvenience to passengers and losses to airlines were also discussed. On October 19, the Center removed DGCA chief Vikram Dev Dutt from his post and appointed him as coal ministry secretary. Two persons were arrested in Mumbai and Kochi. Mumbai police arrested one person.
Apart from this, a minor was detained in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. Both men had made bomb threats on Indigo flights. A passenger was detained at the Cochin airport in Kerala on Monday on charges of making a bomb threat.
