The son committed suicide by making a noose of a dupatta in a hotel room, the mother sleeping on the bed did not even get a clue; he had come to Varanasi from Delhi for darshan

The mother and son, who were sleeping next to each other, committed suicide in the hotel room. This shocking incident happened in a hotel in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Here, a young man staying with his mother hanged himself from the fan using his mother’s dupatta. When the mother woke up and saw her son, she was shocked. Then the police was informed about the incident. The police have also recovered a suicide note from the spot. In which the young man from Delhi stated that the reason for suicide was financial crisis and debt.

Sahil Malik (25), a resident of Multani Danga, Paharganj, Delhi, stayed in room number 204 of the Shri Hari Kripa Residency Hotel near Bhelupur police station in Varanasi with his mother Prerna Malik and gave a wrong ID to the hotel while checking in.

Early in the morning, when the mother sleeping on this bed woke up, she was shocked because the body of her son Sahil was hanging from the fan. Immediately after hearing the mother’s screams, the hotel staff reached there and informed the police about the incident. The police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem.

During investigation, it was found that Sahil’s jewellery shop was in Karol Bagh, Delhi. In the suicide note found at the spot, Sahil had written that the reason for his death was financial crisis and debt.

ACP Dhananjay Mishra said that in the preliminary investigation, Sahil had given sleeping pills to his mother in the food last night, due to which she remained asleep and Sahil committed suicide by standing on the same bed and using his mother’s dupatta. Before committing suicide, Sahil had also taken his mother to all the major temples of Varanasi and made her visit temples.
