Atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh
After the coup in Bangladesh, Hindus were subjected to genocide. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, Hindus in Bangladesh were brutally suppressed. Large-scale looting and vandalism against the minority Hindu community is taking place. Hindu sites and homes were targeted. At the same time, the small state of India has taken a big step towards atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, which is nothing less than a disaster for Bangladesh. Yes, we are talking about Tripura.
In fact, Tripura is busy addressing the atrocities suffered by Hindus in Bangladesh. Tripura demands immediate payment of Rs 135 crore electricity bill from Bangladesh. Apart from this, Tripura Hospital also announced that it would stop treating patients in the area. Tripura took the decision in the wake of atrocities against Hindus in neighboring countries and an attack on an Indian bus in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh should pay Rs 1.35 billion dues immediately
Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Sunday that Bangladesh owes Rs 135 crore. However, he is making regular payments. We are charged Rs 6.65 per kilowatt hour, which is a good price compared to what we get from domestic connections. Apart from this, ILS Hospital in Agartala has announced that it will no longer admit patients from Bangladesh.
Gautam Hazarika, Chief Operating Officer of ILS Hospital in Agartala, said that we fully support the request not to admit Bangladeshi patients. As of today, our help desks at the Akhaura checkpoint and ILS Hospital are closed. The people of Bangladesh have insulted the tricolor. Hindus are tortured in Bangladesh. Earlier, JN Roy Hospital in Kolkata also announced that it would stop treating Bangladeshi patients.
Tripura is surrounded on three sides by Bangladesh
Meanwhile, on the Bangladesh issue, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that the situation in Bangladesh is not good. Minorities in Bangladesh are being persecuted. He further said that terrorists who were jailed during Sheikh Hasina’s regime have now been released from jail. This is a matter of concern as Tripura borders Bangladesh. The Indian government is paying close attention to developments. I wonder how the interim government of Bangladesh is functioning? Surveillance has been stepped up as Tripura is surrounded on three sides by Bangladesh.
Indian bus attacked in Bangladesh
On the other hand, Tripura Transport Minister Sushant Chaudhary claimed that a bus traveling from Agartala to Kolkata was attacked in Bangladesh. The accident took place on Vishwa Road in Brahmanbaria district. There were 28 passengers on the bus. These include 17 Indian citizens and 11 Bangladeshi citizens. Indian passengers on the bus were shocked by the incident. The bus was traveling in its lane when a truck deliberately hit it. At this moment, a tricycle drove in front of the bus, and a collision occurred between the bus and the tricycle.
After the incident, locals started threatening Indian passengers on the bus. They also raised anti-India slogans, behaved inappropriately towards Indian passengers and threatened to kill them. Transport Minister Sushant Chaudhry said, “I strongly condemn this incident and urge neighboring governments to ensure the safety of Indian passengers.” Buses between Kolkata and Agartala operate via Dhaka, which reduces the travel distance by more than half. It’s cheaper than air travel. Train travel usually takes over 30 hours.
