The violence in Manipur has not stopped. Curfews were imposed in Imphal West and Imphal East following renewed uproar in the state after the abduction and murder of six people in a rescue camp. Additionally, the internet will be shut down in seven districts of the state for the next two days.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with senior officials in the capital Delhi on Sunday, November 17. During this period, Shah reviewed the security situation in Manipur, took stock of the situation on the ground and directed officials to ensure peace. The Home Minister will hold a detailed meeting on the issue on Monday. The country’s security arrangements will be discussed.
CRPF Director General will take stock of the situation
Meanwhile, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General Anish Dayal also traveled to Manipur from Delhi to assess the security situation in the state. An angry mob stormed and vandalized the homes of two ministers and three MLAs in the capital Imphal on Saturday. And security forces thwarted an attempt by agitators to storm the chief minister’s ancestral home.

The bodies of two women and a child were found in the Barak River on Saturday. The bodies of the remaining three people, including a woman and two children, were found on Friday night. Protesters demanded appropriate action from the government over the deaths of six people.
