The national executive meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is convened in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh from today. RSS president Mohan Bhagwat officially inaugurated the two-day All India Executive Committee meeting by lighting a lamp. RSS officials will conduct brainstorming on October 25 and 26 at Gau village in Pakkam, Braj. The meeting is considered important ahead of the UP by-elections and its significance is being refined.
Provincial and sub-provincial Sanghchalaks, Karyawah and Pracharaks from all 46 provinces of the union will participate in the All India Executive Council in the meeting organized at Deendayal Upadhyay Dairy Science, Research and Training Centre. The meeting will be attended by 393 workers including Sangh Chairman Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, Assistant Sarkaryavah Krishna Gopal, CA Mukunda, Arun Kumar, Ramdutt Chakradhar, Alok Kumar, Atul Limaye and all-India work department heads and administrative staff.
The RSS organizes three such all-India conferences every year. In his address at Vijayadashami, Sarsanghchalak mentioned five major areas of change. These include social harmony, a sense of family, environmental protection, citizenship and living according to one’s own values. These five points will also form part of the conference’s discussion of social change.
Leaders will share their province’s work over the past year and discuss various issues. They will also outline goals and plans for the coming year and seek guidance from senior officials on these issues. The relief work carried out by the RSS during the crisis in Gujarat, Odisha and West Bengal will also be discussed. Plans to establish permanent projects in these areas will be explored.
Next year marks the centenary of the RSS. RSS officials will review specific organizational goals related to the centenary and discuss plans for grand centenary celebrations.
This meeting is important in many ways. Sangh president Mohan Bhagwat stayed in Mathura for 10 days to attend the meeting. After the Haryana elections, the top BJP leadership is now hoping to get support from the RSS in the by-elections to be held in Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
What is the meeting agenda?
The meeting will decide the full-year work plan of RSS. Apart from this, many other important issues including negative content will also be discussed on OTT platforms. With Panch’s replacement, Sanger will expand the scope of his work during the centenary year. Social peace, mutual harmony and harmony will also be the focus of discussion at the meeting. Sanger said the meeting will discuss the negative impact of social media on children, government regulation of the internet and the expansion of grassroots organizing.
All India propaganda chief Sunil Ambedkar said there are plans to expand the organization by the centenary. This topic will also be discussed at this meeting. Ambekar said topics mentioned by Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat in his Vijayadashami speech, including social unity and prevention of chaos, will be discussed. We will discuss the necessary efforts to keep society united and avoid any form of disruption.
In fact, during Vijayadashami’s speech, the RSS chief also expressed concerns over children being misled on various platforms on the internet, especially social media. He warned of the negative consequences of such content and stressed the need for government regulation. For this, brainstorming will take place. He said the two sides will discuss promoting peace, harmony and social cohesion and make plans on how to advance continued efforts in this direction.
Ambekar said there will also be discussions on how to continue expanding RSS at the grassroots level. Vijayadashami’s plans to achieve these goals by 2025 will also be discussed, including branch offices and weekly meetings. Celebrities such as Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, Birsa Munda, Ahirya Bai Holkar, Rani Durgavati and Satguru Anukul Chandra Thakur will be honored for their contributions. His ideas and teachings will be shared with the community through various projects.
Why is the two-day ‘Mathura Manthan’ important?
The RSS has since been viewed as the ideological wing of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. The meeting will not only motivate RSS workers but also help the BJP in the by-elections. RSS officers and staff will be guided by their superiors. Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was on tour in Mathura, also met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. According to official sources, CM Yogi has invited the Sangh chief to Mahakumbh. But the discussion was that there was more to the meeting than just formality. According to sources, the meeting had an in-depth discussion on Awami League politics, especially the upcoming by-elections and the role of Sangh workers.
Will RSS workers support the BJP in the by-elections?
The closed-door meeting lasted about 45 minutes and was considered very important. According to sources, CM Yogi discussed with Sangh leaders the issue of using Sangh-related volunteers in the by-elections and the two leaders also discussed the feedback received from the Sangh. Sources said Sangh chief assured Chief Minister Yogi that volunteers on Haryana lines will fight alongside the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh by-elections and provide full help.
The meeting also showed that better coordination is being established between the Sangh and the BJP. The immediate effect of the Sangh’s feedback and assistance can be seen in the election results. CM Yogi also met general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale in Mathura ahead of the RSS national executive meeting and stayed at Sapt Kutir for over two and a half hours.
In fact, by-elections to nine seats in UP are linked to prestige. This is also considered the touchstone of CM Yogi’s popularity. Some people also say that this by-election is entirely CM Yogi’s election. This is why Chief Minister Yogi, on the one hand, pays close attention to every by-election seat, and on the other hand, he is proactive from formulating strategies to campaigning. He himself took the lead on the issue of coordination between the BJP and the Sangh. It was discussed that during the meeting between Chief Minister Yogi and the Sangh chief, the issue of coordination between the Sangh and the BJP was also discussed.
In the recently held Haryana elections, the BJP won for the third time in a row. This is thanks to the active role played by Sanger behind this. It is believed that such an outcome was possible because of Sanger’s side-by-side efforts.
