Bulldozer action.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to pay Rs 25 lakh compensation to people whose houses were demolished in 2019. After the court made this ruling, other victims also hope to receive compensation. In 2019, the houses of 123 people were demolished during highway construction in Maharajganj town in Uttar Pradesh. In this regard, the court delivered a historic judgment while hearing a petition filed by Manoj of Hamid Nagar. So other victims are waking up today to seek help. Surprisingly, the road where 123 houses were demolished with bulldozers remains unfinished. Road work from Saxena Chowk to Hanumangarhi crossing is yet to be completed.
Victims Dhyanchand, Deepak Sharan Srivastava and Shail Jaiswal said the court protected everyone’s interests. In the present case, petitioner Manoj filed a suit against the demolition of his house. He informed the court of the incident and the evidence. He said I also have a house and shop in Saxena Chowk. The government bulldozed the house.
The case will now go to court
Krishna Gopal Jaiswal, former chairman of the municipal government, said many people’s houses were destroyed in the incident. No one raised their voice. Dhyan Chand Kasoudhan said the shop was completely destroyed. The case will now go to court. Compensation is expected for this. Some houses in front of Saxena Chowk in the city have been damaged.
The Supreme Court said the compensation order and departmental action should be implemented within a month. In addition to departmental handling, if necessary, such illegal acts should also be investigated for criminal liability. Besides petitioner Manoj Tibrewal, the state government should also investigate those whose houses were demolished. It remains to be seen whether legal procedures have been followed in these cases.

He told reporters that his ancestral house was demolished on September 13 during the construction of the national highway. Prior to this, neither the land was acquired nor any notice of encroachment was issued to them. Suddenly the house was demolished. Even people didn’t get a chance to move things out of their houses.
