The company announced on Tuesday that it will not be launching new products later this month. The company has been teasing the arrival of new products for the past few weeks without actually revealing anything about them, including which device will be launched or any specifications. The latest teaser released by the company suggests that the British startup led by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei will soon launch a new pair of wireless audio headphones with an open-ear design.

On Tuesday, Nothing’s account on X (formerly Twitter) posted a short video of two round cables colliding with each other. The post also included the text “revealed” and confirmed that the company will launch a new product on September 24. Beyond that, there is no other information on the company’s website.

The curved component revealed in the X post appears to be part of an open-ear headphone, similar to the ear hooks on the Soundcore AeroFit Pro or Shokz OpenFit Air. However, this speculation should be treated with caution as the company has not revealed plans to launch new headphones. A listing on the IMDA website suggests that the company may soon launch a product called Nothing Ear Open.

Open-back wireless headphones are designed to sit farther away from your ear canal, allowing you to listen to media while still being aware of your surroundings and reducing ear fatigue. However, they lack the passive seal provided by traditional in-ear headphones, which can result in sound leakage.

Nothing is going to offer a pair of true wireless stereo earphones with an open-ear design, and the company’s latest post contains two clues – the word “open-ear” itself and the portion of the product shown in a brief video – that indicate whether the upcoming product will be its first in the open-ear category.

The only other TWS earphones from the company that didn’t feature silicone ear tips were the now-discontinued Nothing Ear Stick ( review ) from 2022. However, it featured an in-ear design, while the rumored Nothing earphones could be the company’s first open-back earphones.
