On the occasion of Diwali, the showdown between two Bollywood blockbusters has aroused heated discussions among movie fans. On November 1, Kartik Aryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Trupti Dimri will bring an interesting horror comedy called Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. But the challenges they face in theaters are daunting.
The “Avengers” moment in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe will also hit theaters on November 1. Ten years after the release of Rohit’s police universe’s first super-cop character in Singam Again, the first super-cop character will hit theaters with his story. The character of Ajay Devgn has been loved by fans since the beginning. When the character made cameo appearances in other cop universe films like Simmba and Sooryavanshi, the excitement among people sitting in the theaters was worth watching.
In Singham Again, Rohit takes the story to a different level. Apart from Ajay, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor will also appear in the film. Deepika Padukone will also star as Lady Singham, while Tiger Shroff plays the new police officer Satya. All of them get plenty of opportunities to shine in Singham Again’s more than five-minute trailer.

There is another very exciting point in the trailer – the Ramayana angle of the story. Diwali has a direct connection with the story of Lord Rama and hence Ramayana is also a popular theme during Diwali. Under such circumstances, it is not surprising that Ramayana appears in the story of Singham Again.
According to the trailer, Arjun Kapoor, who plays the villain in the film, will kidnap Ajay’s wife Kareena. They will use this as an excuse to try and hunt down Rohit Shetty’s super cop. The film shows this situation from the perspective of Ramayana. Bajirao Singham sets out in search of his wife and he will embark on a journey like Lord Shri Ram. Accompanying him will be ACP Satya, who, like Shri Ram’s brother Laxman, will be by his side as a shadow.
In the trailer, Rohit Shetty casts Simmba (Ranveer Singh) as Hanuman in this police drama Ramayana , while Suryavanshi (Akshay Kumar) has a Jatayu vibe. Filmmakers have often used Ramayana as the subject of their stories, and many times with success. But it could also be risky for “Singham Again.” Watch the trailer for “Singame Again”:
Stories that repeat Ramayana themes in movies
Various symbols and angles related to Ramayana and the story have been heavily repeated in films since the lockdown. Keeping aside the story in the film, in Bollywood, the production of several films based on Ramayana has started at the same time. On one hand, director Nitesh Tiwari has been trying to bring Ramayana to the big screen for years, while on the other hand, Adipurush, a big-budget film, flopped after its release. Among them, the movie “Sita” starring Kangana Ranaut has also been released in recent years and is announced to be released in 2021.
Akshay Kumar also brought the story of Ramayana in Ram Setu. Therefore, “Ramayana” also appears as the theme in the climax of the Oscar-winner “RRR”. On the other hand, Hanuman, a pan-Indian film in the Telugu film industry, also worked wonders. In the South, films like “Ravanasur” and “Dasara” have also been released, with plots and titles referencing Ramayana.
This is about those movies that directly reference Ramayana. Apart from this, post-lockdown, references to Ramayana have cropped up in dialogues and climaxes of many films. There is no doubt that Ramayana is one of India’s most popular mythological stories. But the movie game of creating excitement in the name of this story is now getting a bit boring.
Post-lockdown, audiences are making content decisions very thoughtfully. Among them, only two films that directly referenced the Ramayana, “Ram Setu” and “Adipurush”, did very poorly at the box office. Singam Again is not a film based on Ramayana but tells the story of Ram in the police universe.
In this case, there’s a big risk that “Singham Again” might suffer as well if the public isn’t interested in this angle. However, if Janata Janardhan likes the formula, things might work out at the box office. The public’s decision on the film won’t be known until November 1.
