The Rajasthan government makes a big announcement, 50% women reservation in primary school teacher recruitment level!

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced in June this year 50% reservation for women in recruitment of third-grade teachers, i.e. primary school teachers, but the Law Ministry blocked it This decision was taken by the Government of Rajasthan. The government had issued a notification in this regard on June 14, but now the Law Ministry has put a stop to the Education Ministry’s proposal to retain 50%.

The Justice Ministry has returned the document to the Education Ministry for the second time in a month due to three major objections. The secretariat has sought factual information on these objections from Director of Elementary Education Bikaner so that the Law Ministry can approve the proposal. However, the process may take some time now and the Rajasthan government has announced to conduct the Teacher Recruitment Eligibility Test, REET-2025, at the beginning of the new year i.e. January.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Education hopes to complete the recruitment of third-grade first-level teachers as soon as possible and hopes to increase the female retention rate to 50%. The Department of Basic Education has therefore directed the Director of Basic Education to clarify and attach facts to the objections of the Law Department so that the proposal can be approved.

The education department has also stepped up its efforts to complete it as soon as possible. The Ministry of Education sent a second revised proposal on October 7, and the Law Ministry returned the proposal on October 17.

The Law Ministry said that the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act has reservation provisions for Scheduled Castes, Tribes and Other Backward Classes and currently job reservation provisions are applicable to people belonging to backward classes and extremely backward classes. It’s unclear how booking discounts will be offered to people with disabilities.
