Tensions flared late on Sunday night in a residential area in Belagavi, Karnataka, after some unidentified people put up posters of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, calling him the true founder of united India. However, the police immediately removed the poster after receiving the information.
Known as ‘Sultan-e-Hind’ on his birth anniversary
According to police, some youths put up a large poster at Shahu Nagar Circle on Bauxite Road in the city late on Saturday night. In the poster, the longest-reigning Mughal emperor Aurangzeb is called “Sultan-e-Hind” on his birth anniversary. Seeing that the atmosphere was likely to deteriorate, the police removed the posters on the instructions of the Belagavi Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, an FIR has also been registered against the unknown youths who put up the objectionable posters. The BJP demanded the early arrest of the accused in this case.
Controversy over inclusion of Aurangzeb’s photo in DP
In fact, controversies continued to arise regarding the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. A controversy over Aurangzeb erupted in Maharashtra in June last year. Controversy over Aurangzeb’s appointment as DP has come to light. A case has been registered against a man in Navi Mumbai for having photos of Aurangzeb in his WhatsApp DP. The man was arrested but released after questioning. The police have registered a case against the person under Sections 298 and 153-A of the IPC.
