It is learned that Ram Gopal Mishra led the procession to immerse the Durga idol on Sunday evening. When the parade passed by a community in Maharajganj market, the two parties got into an argument over slogans and DJ playing. Soon the argument turned into a riot. During this time, stones were allegedly started being thrown from the roof, leading to a stampede during the soak. Meanwhile, Ram Gopal was seriously injured in the shooting and was rushed to Balaich Medical College where he succumbed to his injuries. Chaos in Maharajganj became more violent after the news of Ram Gopal’s death broke.
