Muhammad Amir: The Pakistan cricket team is currently on tour of South Africa for a T20 series. Meanwhile, Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has decided to retire. He gave this information on social media platform X. Amir retired from international cricket for the second time. He had previously announced that he would retire in 2020.
Amir retires for second time
Mohammad Amir posted on social media platform that it was a matter of great pride to play for Pakistan. I would like to thank PCB for always providing much needed support over the years. I’m looking forward to seeing a better performance from the team. I would also like to thank the fans of Pakistan who have supported me throughout my career.
Won the T20 World Cup title
Mohammad Amir has played all three formats of cricket for the Pakistan cricket team. Apart from this, he was also a member of the 2009 T20 World Cup winning Pakistan team. In the final against Sri Lanka, he took one wicket and scored 30 runs in four overs. Thereafter, in 2010, he was convicted of repairs. He was then banned for five years. But he returned to international cricket again and performed strongly.
Comes out of retirement to participate in T20 World Cup
Mohammad Amir has come back from retirement to represent Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup. But he performed poorly and turned out to be a huge failure. Since then, the Pakistan team has also been eliminated from the group. So far, he has taken 119 wickets in 36 Test matches, 81 wickets in 61 ODIs and 71 wickets in 62 T20 Internationals.
