“One country, one election” bill
The One Nation One Election Bill will not be introduced in the Lok Sabha tomorrow, Monday. It has been removed from the revised agenda. The agenda, released on Friday, was earlier said to be tabled in the Lok Sabha on Monday. But now the bill will not be introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday. What remains unclear, however, is why the government decided not to introduce the bill on Monday, and now on what day will it be introduced?
It is believed the constitution will be discussed in the Bundestag on Monday and Tuesday, with the opposition launching an attack on the president and introducing a motion of no-confidence. The government and the BJP will also be aggressive with the Congress and opposition, so it is believed that the bill has been removed from Monday’s agenda to avoid diverting attention from the discussion.
