The National Conference has the support of another independent leader…and it can now form a government on its own.

After the abrogation of Article 370, the National Assembly and Congress alliance won the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir after many years. The alliance won 49 seats in the 90-seat parliament. The alliance’s leaders have since begun efforts to form a government.

At the same time, the National Congress Party, which emerged as the largest party in the election, also began to gain support from independent candidates. Now independent leader Satish Sharma, who won the Assembly elections in Jammu Jambu, has joined the National Conference.

Support of four independent candidates
He met National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and joined the party. Satish Sharma secured 33,985 votes in the assembly elections, defeating Rajiv Sharma of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Omar Abdullah’s party is trying to form a government and has the support of four independent candidates. Seven independent candidates won this parliamentary election. More than 300 independent candidates are competing in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The national conference can form a government alone
The national conference has hit the magic number (46) to form a government thanks to the support of four independent leaders. The party won 42 seats in this parliamentary election with a vote rate of 23.43%. With the support of these four leaders, the National Conference can form a new government in Jammu and Kashmir on its own if it wishes.

Let us tell you that at its national congress on Thursday, the party unanimously elected Omar Abdullah as leader of the party in the Legislative Yuan. The information was provided by party chairman Farooq Abdullah. He said the party’s legislative body met and unanimously elected Omar Abdullah as its leader.
