There was an encounter between the police and the accused in the EXEN murder case in Sultanpur, UP around 2 am on Saturday night. Due to which two murderers including the main accused Jal Nigam’s AE got shot in their legs. Both of them got injured due to this. Both have been admitted to the Government Medical College. Police said that both were planning to escape to Bihar via Varanasi. Both of them together had beaten Accen to death in the city area on Saturday morning.
The accused were planning to escape from Banaras to Bihar
Giving information, Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar said that Kotwali city in-charge AK Dwivedi received information on Saturday night that Amit and his partner Pradeep, both accused in the EXEN murder case, were planning to escape from Banaras to Bihar via Banaras Road from Dubepur turn. On this information the police team started the siege. Meanwhile, both the murderers were seen coming at around 2 o’clock in the night.

During this time, as soon as the murderers saw the police team already present, they started firing. After which both of them started running towards the back of the airstrip located at Amhat of Kotwali Nagar. While chasing both of them, the police opened fire in self-defense. Both Amit Kumar and Pradeep were injured in the firing. After which both of them were sent to the Government Medical College.

Jal Nigam rural area office is in Vinovapuri locality of Kotwali Nagar. Just 50 meters away from here, Jal Nigam Rural Executive Engineer Santosh Kumar lived in a rented house. On Saturday morning, Amit, a contractual assistant engineer from his own department, and another person called his driver and got him to open the house and then beat him to death. The deceased was a native of Ratsadakala, Ballia, his family lives in Prayagraj. On receiving the information, deceased’s brother Sanjay Kumar and wife Adi had reached Sultanpur.
On the complaint of brother, a case of murder was registered against AE Amit Kumar and an unknown person. The father of the deceased is also a railway officer in Prayagraj. 35 year old wife Mamta also works in a government job.
