The confrontation between security forces and terrorists in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir lasted for about 10 hours. Farooq Nali is the only remaining commander among the 14 commanders of Burhan’s forces. In the past nine years, he has carried out terrorist activities in south Kashmir through the command of Islamic Jihad.

Farooq Nali is accused of attacking security forces, targeted killings and recruiting new youths to join the party. Security agencies considered the operation a success and a major achievement and considered it a major blow to the Hezbollah jihadist group. Amit Shah convenes high-level meeting
On the other hand, the Ministry of Home Affairs is also on alert following this encounter. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level security meeting on security issues of particular relevance to Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also participated in the meeting. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Duru and Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat were also present at the meeting. In addition, Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi, National Investigation Agency Director Sadanand Dutt, BSF Director Daljit Singh Chaudu Li also attended the meeting.
