In Raebareli, UP, a young man found a bag full of money on the road. He reached Gadganj police station with it with the intention of seeking police help. But it is alleged that the police wrongly sent him to jail in a robbery case. When the matter escalated, an investigation was conducted by higher officials. The young man was found innocent in the investigation. However, during this time he had to stay in jail for about 12 days. After his release, the victim has narrated his ordeal.

In fact, Gaurav alias Deepu, a resident of Jamunipur Charuhar, was arrested on August 26 on charges of robbery. After which the local people protested fiercely. The traders closed their shops and protested. When the dispute escalated, the Circle Officer was asked to investigate the incident and it was found that the young man was not involved in the robbery. Rather, he had really found a bag full of money on the roadside. But, in a hurry, the local police made him an accused and put him in jail.

In this case, the officials said that after interrogation, Gaurav alias Deepu was released on Saturday evening. However, when Deepu told his story to the media after coming out, serious questions were raised on the working style of the police.

The victim, Deepu, found a bag while returning home on August 20 and immediately reported it to the local police station along with the Gram Pradhan representative. However, the police accused him of robbery, which led to his arrest on August 26.

Villagers and local traders staged protests demanding Deepu’s release. They argued that he was innocent and that the police had mishandled the case. In the wake of public outrage, the police launched an investigation and eventually determined that he was not involved in the robbery.

According to the news agency, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjeev Kumar Sinha said that due to lack of evidence, the police has taken the initiative to release Gaur alias Deepu. At the same time, the local people said that the police, in a hurry to show good work, sent an innocent youth to jail. He was released after 12 days. His only fault was that he had safely delivered an unclaimed bag lying on the road to the police.

The victim said that after collecting the bag, the SO sahab kept him in the police station for two days, then took him to the jungle, gave him the bag there and made a video of him, then implicated him in a robbery case on 26th August. Although the young man is happy on his release, he is also shocked by this action of the law.
