National Conference president and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah on Monday made it clear that his party will continue to knock on the doors of the Supreme Court for the restoration of Article 370. Abdullah said, “The restoration of Article 370 is related to the honor of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and we will work hard to restore it at any cost.”

Terrorism does not end after abolishing Section 370

At an election rally in Budhar, he lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “Contrary to the claims of the BJP, terrorism does not end with the abrogation of Article 370. The ongoing terror attacks in Jammu region are proof of this,” he said.

At a rally in support of the party’s candidate Chaudhry Javed, Abdullah also expressed confidence that the National Conference and its alliance partner the Congress would form a government after the upcoming elections. “We believe the people are with us and together we will form a government,” he said.

Jammu and Kashmir should become a state again – Rahul

On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also emphasized that the Congress will put pressure on the centrists to grant Jammu and Kashmir state status again after the assembly elections. Rahul Gandhi said: “This is the first time a state is being converted into a Union Territory. This is a violation of your democratic rights.
