The family of an Indian student killed in Canada reacted to his death

Family of Harsimrat Kaur RandhawaA 21 -year -old Indian student, who was shot by a stray bullet in Canada, has urged the Center to bring his body back to India. Ms. Randhawa’s family claimed that she hit a bullet when violence occurred between two groups in the port city of Hamilton.

The family said in a statement, “She went to Canada about two years ago for her studies and when the incident took place, she was going out for her routine. During the conflict between the two groups, the bullets flashed, and she hit a bullet, causing her death,” the family said in a statement.

The family of Ms. Randhawa, from Dhunda village in Taran Taran district in Punjab, has appealed to the government to expedite the process of returning its body.

Hamilton Police Service confirmed that Ms. Randhawa was killed on the evening of 17 April. Around 7:30 pm, the police responded to a shooting report in the area of ​​Upper James Street and South Bend Road East. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Indian student Harisimrat Randhwa at Hamilton, Ontario,” the post read. “According to local police, she was an innocent victim, a stray bullet was badly killed during a shooting incident. A murder is currently under investigation.”

The Consulate said that it is in close contact with Ms. Randhawa’s family and providing necessary consular assistance.

College response

The seductive college, where Harimrat was nominated, also accepted the tragedy. In a statement, the college said, “Our views are with his family and friends in this difficult time. As a member of the seductive college community, we know that this loss is being felt by many people. We will do everything to support Harmimrat’s friends, family and broad college community.”

College officials have not released details about the length of its educational program or its nomination, citing the privacy protocol.
