Bhubaneswar: Can you imagine that a mother can be so cruel that she and her lover treat her own children cruelly? A similar case was detected in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Here a mother burned her baby with hot tongs to protest an illicit relationship. The mother and her lover carried out the brutal incident together.

A shocking incident took place in Mahavir area under Maitri Vihar police station in Bhubaneswar. The woman’s boyfriend tortured the two children with hot pliers for three days, leaving them with multiple bruises on their bodies. This atrocity was committed by the children’s mother Sumitra Mahapatra and her lover Guddu Nayak.
It is understood that Sumitra’s 11-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter objected to her illicit relationship, so Sumitra’s lover Guddu inflicted this punishment on them. The mother, along with her lover Guddu Nayak, locked the innocent children in a closed room and tortured them.
The children’s father, Prasanna Mahapatra, had been living outside the city for seven months, and the accused lover, Guddu Nayak, took the opportunity to come to the woman’s home. When the children protested against this act, the Kaliyugi mother and her lover, blinded by love, began to abuse the children.
The children somehow contacted their father Prasanna Mohapatra and informed him about the incident. After hearing the news, Prasanna returned to Bhubaneswar and lodged a police complaint against his wife Sumitra and Guddu. Immediately after receiving the complaint, Maitri Vihar police detained the mother and arrested the accused Guddu Nayak after conducting multiple searches. After interrogation, Gudu confessed to his crime.
What did the police say?
An officer from Maitri Vihar police station said, “On Monday, the children had an argument with Sumitra and Guddu, due to which Guddu locked them in a room for three days and tortured them. Sumitra and Guddu together burned a 15-year-old with hot tongs After registering a complaint, Sumitra and Guddu were arrested and further investigation is underway.
According to sources, Guddu and Sumitra had been having an illicit relationship for the past seven months. Guddu is the driver of the apartment owner where Sumitra works as a maid.
