The caretaker appointed by his family raped minors multiple times and was sentenced to 20 years in prison

A Delhi court has sentenced a man found guilty of raping a minor girl to 20 years in prison. He often walked the victim to school and then walked her home. In 2018, the man raped an underage girl multiple times, and the court found him guilty. The court said the offender betrayed the victim’s family.

Additional Sessions Judge Balwinder Singh was hearing sentencing arguments against the 44-year-old driver, a convicted man, who was convicted under Section 6 of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act). In handing down the sentence, the court said the offender did not deserve sympathy or leniency because he violated social values ​​and morals.

The court issued a verdict on October 19, saying: “In this case, the victim was a minor girl, who was only 3.5 years old at the time of the incident.” She was sexually harassed from August 2018 to October 23, 2018. The prisoner is a married man. He is mature enough to understand the nature and consequences of his actions. Even though he was an adult, that man did not hesitate to commit heinous crimes against minors. The victim’s family entrusted him (the defendant) with the responsibility of sending the girl to school and bringing her back.

The court said: “The offender took advantage of her (the victim’s) innocence and insecurity. She was only 3.5 years old at the time of the crime. Instead of showing love, affection and protection to the victim, the perpetrator made her a victim of his own desires. The court sentenced him under Section 376 AB (punishment for rape of a child below 12 years of age) in addition to the POCSO Act. In addition to 20 years’ imprisonment, a fine of Rs 50,000 was also imposed on the convict and a compensation of Rs 120,000 was awarded to the minor victim.
