There is anger across the country for justice for Kolkata’s doctor daughter. Doctors across the country are on strike and protesting. Meanwhile, political struggle is also going on in Kolkata. Both CM Mamata Banerjee and BJP leaders have been out on the streets. Mamata Banerjee has announced a march demanding justice, while BJP is also going to march to Mamata Banerjee’s house.

Amidst all this, the Governor of Bengal has now raised questions on the working style of Kolkata Police and has also targeted the Mamata government. Speaking to India Today TV on Friday, Governor CV Anand Bose said that Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee is behaving like ‘Jekyll and Hyde’.

Bose said that Mamata Banerjee’s demand that the accused be hanged first and then the trial should continue is the biggest joke he has heard in recent times. Bose said, “The Chief Minister’s statement that hang the person and then continue the trial sounds like the voice of a Roman emperor. The Chief Minister is behaving like Jekyll and Hyde, the rest know who is who.”

Asked about his views on the police investigation in the case, Bose said he had already expressed his displeasure with the existing police hierarchy in Kolkata. The Governor said, “After the incident at RG Kar Hospital, I have written a long letter to the Chief Minister and suggested him to take action and have also sought a report from him under Article 167 of the Constitution. In the last 5 years, I have written 30 such letters. Sent to which no reply was given, this is unconstitutional.

What is Jekyll-Hyde?

Let us tell you that in 1886, a novel by Robert Louis Stevenson was published, whose name was Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This novel by the Scottish author is quite famous and as its title suggests, the story is quite strange. The novel focuses on the story between two opposing characters – the kind and honorable Doctor Jekyll and the murderous cruel Hyde. Based on this novel, ‘Jekyll-Hyde’ is referred to when a person has two completely different personalities. That is, a person who has one thing in his mind and shows something else.
