Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed concern over the clashes in the valley. He wrote in a tweet on social media According to reports, people who went to buy goods at the “Sunday Market” in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, were attacked with grenades. Such news is indeed disturbing. He wrote in a tweet that targeting innocent civilians is simply not right.

All security mechanisms should work to stop this and thereby stop the spread of such disturbances in the valley. He tweeted that people in the valley should not live in fear. In fact, terrorists launched a grenade attack at a Sunday market in Srinagar district. Terrorists target people in the market. Eleven people were seriously injured in the attack.

Three terrorists were killed

Security forces had two encounters in Jammu and Kashmir. To maintain peace in the valley, security forces are conducting search operations at different places. Security forces encountered terrorists in Anantnag and Srinagar. Security forces killed three terrorists in two encounters. A senior Pakistani commander with links to Lashkar-e-Taiba was among the three terrorists killed by security forces.

According to police officials, the slain Pakistani commander was named Usman. It has been active in the valley for a long time. Inspector Masroor Wani was murdered by Usman. Lashkar-e-Taiba suffered a major setback due to what happened to Usman. Two policemen and two soldiers were also injured in the clash. He was taken to hospital with injuries. After treatment, his condition remained stable. According to the Press Trust of India news agency, such an encounter happened in Srinagar two years ago. The encounter was carried out by security forces in Naugam in 2022.
