The 38th National Games will be held in Uttarakhand. The competition held its opening ceremony on December 15th. At the launching ceremony, five important symbols including the Olympic Games emblem, anthem, mascot, torch and jersey were unveiled. This important event was attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Indian Olympic Committee Chairman PT Usha, Union Minister of State for Sports and many well-known officials.
So many athletes will participate in the National Games
A jersey specially designed for the Uttarakhand players was also unveiled at the ceremony. After being launched, the torch will rotate throughout the state as a symbol of unity and community. In preparation for the National Games, a total of 42 player training sessions were organized, with 1,260 players participating. The state has hired experienced coaches from other states and abroad to provide better training.

Uttarakhand’s traditional sports such as yoga and malkham have been included in the main events of the National Games. Indian Olympic Committee President PT Usha announced the news during the event. The state sports minister discussed the issue with PT Usha on Wednesday evening, who responded positively to the idea.

PT Usha took the opportunity to say that she would like to congratulate the Uttarakhand government and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for constructing world-class sports facilities in the state. PT Usha also said that under her guidance, Uttarakhand has set an example for how a state can promote sports development in the country. He also announced that yoga and malkam will be included as medal events in the National Games. He further said that by including these sports, we are giving a place to our national traditions in global sports.

State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who was present at the launch, said today is a historic day for everyone in the history of sports in Uttarakhand. Today, we reveal the mascot’s anthem, logo, slogan and jersey. On behalf of all the people of Uttarakhand, I would like to thank Prime Minister Modi for giving us the opportunity to organize this event. He further said that the logo we launched today represents the different districts of Uttarakhand in front of the entire country and the national anthem you hear not only reflects our unity but also inspires our players and youth to work harder.
All matches will be held in these cities
The Minister of Sports also introduced the venues for various competitions in the 38th National Games. 16 matches will be held in Dehradun, 3 matches in Haridwar, 3 matches in Rudrapur, 8 matches in Haldwani, 1 match in Tyree, Rishikesh 1 match will be held in Shivpuri. Apart from this, yoga will be held as exhibition sessions in Pauri, Markam in Almora, Rafting in Tanakpur and Kalaripattu in Dehradun.
