One of India’s biggest movie stars, Junior NTR’s movie “Devra” is about to be released. Saif Ali Khan and Jhanvi Kapoor also star in the film from director Koratala Siva, along with Jr NTR.

NTR is famous in Telugu films and South region. His Hindi dubbed movies are well known in North India and he enjoys a huge craze among the Hindi audience. But two years ago, S.S. Rajamouli’s film RRR takes Junior NTR to those homes and corners of the country where people might not have recognized him before.

“Devra” is also Jr NTR’s first solo film after RRR, so it has also attracted public attention. His fans are very excited about the film, which is why the film seems poised to have a strong start on day one.

The response to advance bookings has been overwhelming
The public’s excitement for “Devola” is evident in the advance bookings for the film. As soon as reservations started, the movie screenings began to fill up quickly. The die-hard Telugu fans of ‘Junior NTR’ have shown such enthusiasm in terms of bookings that many places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were packed for the film’s screenings on Friday.

According to SACNILC, more than 1.5 million tickets for “Devra” have been pre-booked across the country. Due to the huge box office, the total pre-sale box office of the film reached about 390 million rupees. If theater seats are included, the total pre-sale revenue of “Devra” has reached Rs 54 crore.

1 billion rupees to open
The film’s advance box office is enough to show that the film’s box office in India alone on the first day can be between 800-850 million rupees. Including collections from overseas markets, the total collection on the first day will easily exceed 1 billion rupees.

In 2024, “Devra” will become the third Indian film to gross over Rs 100 crore at the box office. Prior to this, Prabhas’ “Kalki 2898” and Tamil star Tarapathi Vijay’s film “Goat” had grossed over Rs 100 crore in their opening box office.

Hindi will remain dull
While the public craze for Devra is strong in the South, the Hindi audience doesn’t seem to be as enthusiastic about the film. There doesn’t seem to be any benefit in having Bollywood actors like Saif and Jhanvi in the film. Trade reports show that fewer than 20,000 tickets for “Devra” (Hindi) were sold in advance at national chains, while overall bookings for the film were less than 100,000.

Across national theater chains, the Hindi films that failed miserably had less than 20,000 ticket reservations. Like Ajay Devgn’s Maidan and Ayushmann Khurana’s Dr. Ji. The advance collection of Jr NTR Hindi film is close to Rs 2 Crore. The film’s reviews aren’t great either, and the Hindi version won’t benefit much from word-of-mouth. Therefore, the Hindi version of Devra is likely to be released in theaters and fetch Rs 4-5 crore at the box office.

According to reports, the Hindi version of “Devra” will be released on more than 2,000 screens. This is a huge number of screens, even a mid-budget Hindi film can only hit 2200 to 2500 screens. Based on the screen count, if the film opens at least double digits at Rs 10 crore, it will be considered a good start. Now, it’s all about teenage NTR’s stardom and how far his films can lure Hindi audiences to theaters.
