On Saturday, Delhi’s Najafgarh police station received information from PCR that a pistol was found in the school bag of a child in Green Valley School, Deepak Vihar. After this, the police immediately reached the school and started investigating the matter.

On reaching the school, the police came to know that a pistol was found in the school bag of a 10-year-old child studying in class 6. That pistol was the licensed weapon of the child’s father. The school management had also informed the child’s family about this.

The magazine was not fitted in the pistol
The pistol found in the child’s bag did not have a magazine. The child’s mother said that her husband had bought the pistol in his name and had also taken its license. Her husband died a few months ago. After this, she took out this pistol to deposit it in the police station.

The child had put the pistol in his bag thinking it was a toy
The child’s mother said that somehow the pistol accidentally went into her son’s school bag. When the child was asked about this, he said that he had kept it in his bag thinking it was a toy pistol. After this, the police checked the license of the weapon.

The pistol license was found to be correct in the investigation
During investigation, the license of the pistol was found to be correct. Also, no crime of any kind was found to have been committed in this case. After this, the child’s mother herself deposited the pistol in the store room of Najafgarh police station.
