Actually, the District Child Protection Officers had visited Alangambu Government School to conduct a seminar on sexual harassment and child marriage. During this, when they talked to the students, the officers were shocked to see that nine girl students of class 7 and 8 were allegedly sexually harassed by Natarajan, who was working as a teacher in the school.
The principal knew but did not complain
Child protection officers said that the class teacher of the students was aware of the activities of the accused Natarajan. An internal investigation was also conducted by the school principal. But no one complained about this to the police. Child protection officers have lodged a police complaint after talking to the students. In this case, five accused were arrested under the POCSO Act. Further investigation is underway.
