A major road accident has occurred in Chidambaram of Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu. Five people are reported dead in a horrific accident caused by a collision between a truck and a car on the highway. The dead include two women and a child. Muhammad Anwar (56), a resident of Mayiladuthurai area, was returning from Chennai with his family. He was returning in a car with his family after meeting his relative. His relative Yasser Arafat was driving the car.
Accident due to loss of control of truck
When the car reached the P Mutlur bridge, a truck coming from Sane lost control and the accident occurred. Mohammad Anwar, Yasir Arafat, Hajira Begum, Harfatnisha and a three-year-old child Abnan died in the horrific accident.
Parangipettai police reached the spot with the rescue team. The dead people were taken out by removing the parts of the damaged vehicle. After this, the bodies were taken to the district hospital for postmortem. The police have registered a case and started searching for the truck driver who fled from the spot.
