Police have arrested three more accused in the Armstrong murder case of Bahujan Samaj Party Chief of Tamil Nadu. The arrested people have been identified as N Vijayakumar (21), V Mukilan (32) and N Vignesh (27). He was produced in the local court on Sunday. The court has sent all three of them to police custody for 15 days.

The number of accused taken into police custody in this high profile murder case has now reached 20. K Thiruvengadam, an accused in this case, was killed in a police encounter on July 14. After his arrest, he was being taken to recover weapons. At the same time the accused tried to run away from there, he snatched the weapon and started firing.

After this the police retaliated and killed him. On July 5, Bahujan Samaj Party state president K Armstrong was murdered by a gang. After this murder, there was widespread anger in the state. Opposition parties including AIADMK alleged that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated. There was a demand for a CBI investigation into this murder.

BSP supremo and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati had gone to K Armstrong’s house to pay her respects. After this massacre, Mayawati had written on Instagram, “Shri K, a hardworking and dedicated leader of BSP in Tamil Nadu. There was a wave of outrage in the entire society due to the gruesome murder of Armstrong outside his Chennai residence. The government should take strict action immediately.

Let us tell you that K Armstrong was a lawyer and Ambedkarite by profession. He used to work for the welfare of Dalits. He was the state president of BSP for many years. Was very popular in North Chennai area. His popularity was especially high among the youth whom he helped in studying and getting jobs. He had won the year 2006 as an independent councillor.

After this he joined BSP. He contested the 2011 assembly elections from Kolathur constituency, challenging DMK’s MK Stalin. He had secured sufficient number of votes in the elections. He came into limelight after inviting former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati for the rally. After this he gained fame throughout Tamil Nadu.

On July 5, K Armstrong was murdered in front of his house in Chennai. He was talking to some party workers at his house on Venugopal Street in Sembiam area of ​​Chennai at around 7 pm. Then six people riding on two bikes came and attacked them with knives and swords. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital, but by then he had died.
