Northeastern Region Development Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia praised the rapid development of India’s northeastern region under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and emphasized the continuous improvement of infrastructure. Regarding the situation in Manipur, Scindia said we are in constant dialogue with all groups there. The central government is working with state governments to find solutions. He also claimed that violence cases in the Northeast have dropped significantly over the past 10 years.
In an interview with news agency ANI, Union Minister Scindia acknowledged the complexity of the northeastern state of Manipur but denied that the situation had arisen in the past few years. He said this has been going on for 25 to 40 years. He also stressed that the central and state governments are committed to finding a solution to the violence in Manipur.

Scindia said, “The central government knows that Manipur has not seen this situation last year, last five years or last 10 years. This severe situation has persisted for the past 25 to 40 years. Therefore, this is not the case. The previous government created it. We are in constant dialogue with all the groups there and trying to find an amicable solution.”

Scindia: 5,000 NHs should be built in Northeast within 10 years
Scindia said: “In the past 10 years, we have built about 55,000 kilometers of national highways. “In areas where there were only 10,000 kilometers of national highways before, there are now 16,000 kilometers of national highways. He said: “What has been done here in the past 60 years?” 60% of the work in the area was completed in the past 10 years. “In the last 10 years, under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, 45,000 kilometers were built at a cost of Rs 50,000 crore.”
Regarding railways, he said: “If you look at the work done on railways, the track was constructed at a rate of about 6.5 kilometers per month. But it has now increased to 19 kilometers per month. In addition, 2,000 kilometers of tracks have been built in the last 10 years Railway tracks.” The federal minister said that during his last tenure in the civil aviation sector, there were nine airports in the northeastern states and now there are 17 airports in the region.
“Three to four states in the northeast are already connected by rail and we will connect other states in the next two to three years,” he said. “There are 19 railway projects underway in the region costing about Rs 88,000 crore. “
Scindia also said: “In the past, we had only one waterway for transportation in the Northeast. But now we have 20 waterways for transportation in the Northeast.”

Meanwhile, Union Minister Scindia also announced that India’s second semiconductor factory will be set up in Assam, which is a major achievement for the region. He said: “The region is developing and progressing very fast and that is why the first semiconductor factory in the Northeast is being set up in Assam. The second project is in India and the first one is in the Northeast with Tata Group , the investment is around Rs 27,000 crore. In the last 6 months, we have conducted 3 roadshows ahead of the key investor summits, which we have organized in March or April next year. A roadshow will be organized in Mumbai tomorrow through these 3. We have raised around Rs 45,000 crore in MoUs and Expressions of Interest through this roadshow.”

India’s economy is growing at a very fast rate of 6.5 to 7.5 percent per year, but the growth rate of the Northeastern states is between 9.30 and 11 percent per year. %.
