A shocking case took place in Rajkot, Gujarat. A young man was robbed on the pretext of applying for a relationship through homosexuality. A man working in a private job in Rajkot created an account on a gay app. On October 20, she contacted Rudra through the same application and phone numbers were exchanged.

As soon as the conversation started, the two started chatting every day. The next day when he went to work he got a call from Rudra in which he talked about physical relationship and the man accepted and talked about meeting in the evening.

In the evening, when he went to meet Rudra, one of his friends was also with him. Then the three people set off on their bicycles. On the way, Rudra suddenly stopped the bike at a deserted place and then another person started threatening the victim. He said why did you send such message to my brother. Rudra and his friends then also beat up the victim. The complainant robbed eight Apple mobile phones and Rs 1,000. Afterwards, when they started taking him on a bike ride again, he jumped off the bike and ran away to save his life.

In his complaint filed with the police, the complainant youth stated that he sustained some injuries as a result of jumping from the bike. When explaining the reason for the delay in reporting the crime, he said that he did not call the police because he was afraid, but after his friend explained, he plucked up the courage to report the crime.

Rajkot DCP Zone 2 Jagdish Bangarwa said the two accused were arrested immediately after the complainant lodged a complaint. Neither of them had a past history and police had not received any complaints that they had done anything similar to anyone before. Maybe after the first time, Rudra and his friends planned to rob the boys through the app but they failed.
