Tavavur Rana, one of the main accused of 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, was brought to India this week to face the law from the US, soon ended all the legal routes to stop their extradition. A few weeks before the assurance of Rana’s surrender to India, US President Donald Trump made a final attempt by a conspirator of terrorist attacks to stop it.
In a letter to Rana’s lawyer, John de Clin, US State Department On January 21, 2025, a “torture” was cited to prevent more than 30 health causes and extradition. He also warned that his customer could be harassed in Indian jails and can also die due to their poor health.

He called the terms of Indian jails “inhuman” and said that Rana would die in the country while waiting for the test.
A total of 33 alleged health issues of Rana were also included in the request.
“Rana’s health, which has been decreasing for years, has been deteriorating after being underdeveloped for almost 5 years at the notorious metropolitan detention center in Los Angeles. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2024 and shown symptoms of cognitive loss, which is associated with sensing sensing. Their bladder is skeptical.

The US State Department responded to Rana’s lawyer’s letter three weeks later on 11 February, made one thing clear – Tahwur Rana will be extradited.
The office of US State Secretary Marco Rubio rejected Rana’s counsel’s torture claims and said that the United Nations Conference was followed against all international rules, especially torture, sending Rana to India. The US also offered Indian authorities to pass any updated medical records to help prepare for Rana treatment.
“However, with issuing this warrant, Rana can be surrendered in India at any time. So we need medical information quickly,” said this.

A Canadian National Rana of Pakistani origin first worked as a doctor for the Pakistan Army. Rana also visited Mumbai with his wife and stayed at the Taj Mahal Hotel, which became the target of attacks.
