A tragic accident near Tel Aviv in northern Israel has left at least one person dead and 40 others injured. At least 10 of them are said to be in critical condition. The accident occurred when a truck hit passengers standing at a bus stop near the Israeli military base in Giliot.
Preliminary police investigation revealed that the truck driver also hit the bus that was getting off the bus. Pictures and videos on social media showed scores of people trapped under trucks, with locals rushing to help. After receiving information about the accident, military helicopters also began to circle in the sky.

Israeli defense minister calls it a terrorist attack
Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called it a terrorist attack and insisted that arming civilians was justified. He praised police and civilians who neutralized the attackers. He said the incident was the result of the government’s strict crackdown on terrorism.
After this incident, discussions intensified that the attacker’s family should be deported. Israel also has laws to deal with such attacks, and in the wake of recent attacks there has been renewed discussion of laws aimed at deporting the families of attackers.

We remember the attacks of October 7
Israel is currently hosting events to commemorate the October 7 Hamas attack that sparked the war in Gaza and Lebanon. Hamas launched a rocket attack on Israel on October 7. In the subsequent war, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah were both killed.
Just hours before the attack, an attacker tried to stab an Israeli soldier in Hizma, near Jerusalem. However, the army killed him there.
