Today he has made a distinct identity in world cricket due to his brilliant batting in the T20 format. Today we will tell how Suryakumar is ruling the hearts of Indian fans by completing this journey from badminton to cricket….

Fond of sports since childhood

Suryakumar Yadav was born on 14 September 1990 in Mumbai. His father Ashok Kumar Yadav was an electrical engineer in BARC. Suryakumar’s family had no special connection with sports, but he himself had a deep passion for sports. He was fond of playing cricket and badminton since childhood. However, his interest in sports was not limited to just a hobby, but he performed at a good level in both sports. But there came a time in life when Suryakumar had to choose between cricket and badminton for his career. He chose cricket and today his choice has taken him to the top of cricket.

Cricket journey, support of wife Devisha

Suryakumar Yadav’s cricket journey has not been easy. He has worked hard to make his place in the Indian team. Despite performing consistently well for many years in domestic cricket, he was not getting a chance in the Indian team. Suryakumar performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai’s domestic team and gradually made his mark. But getting a place in the Indian team was a big challenge for him. Despite hard work and patience, there came a time when Suryakumar started feeling that perhaps he would never be able to become a part of the Indian team. During this time, his wife Devisha Shetty kept his spirits up. His wife Devisha has played an important role in Suryakumar’s success.

Got a chance at the age of 31

Suryakumar Yadav played his first T20 match for the Indian cricket team at the age of 31 against England in the year 2021. At this age when many players are at the last stage of their career, Suryakumar made a new beginning in cricket. His debut was late, but he did not look back after that. In his very first match, he showed that he is ready to become an important part of the Indian team.

Suryakumar Yadav has won everyone’s heart with his aggressive batting in the T20 format. His specialty is that he can play shots in all parts of the field, which creates problems for the bowlers. Soon, Suryakumar became one of the best batsmen in the world in T20 cricket.

Such is the international career

Suryakumar Yadav has played 71 T20 matches for India so far, in which he has scored 2432 runs in 68 innings at an average of 42.66. These include 4 centuries and 20 half-centuries. The biggest strength of Suryakumar’s batting is his finishing ability and playing shots all around the field, due to which cricket fans call him ‘Mr. 360’ of Team India.

However, his performance in ODI cricket has not been that great. He has scored 773 runs in 37 ODIs at an average of 25.76, which includes 4 half-centuries. Suryakumar has played only one match in Test cricket so far, in which he scored 8 runs. He is yet to prove himself in ODI and Test cricket, but his performance in T20 International has been excellent.

IPL has contributed a lot to my career…

A major reason for Suryakumar Yadav’s success in T20 International has been the Indian Premier League (IPL). His IPL career started in 2011 with Mumbai Indians (MI), but he did not get many opportunities in the first two years. After this, Suryakumar signed a contract with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014, where he got a lot of opportunities. While playing for Kolkata, he played some brilliant innings and made his own identity.

In 2018, Suryakumar Yadav again joined Mumbai Indians and from here his career reached new heights. He consistently performed well for Mumbai Indians and contributed significantly to the team’s victory. So far, he has scored 3594 runs in 150 IPL matches at an average of 32.38, which includes 2 centuries and 24 half-centuries. Today, Suryakumar Yadav’s batting is recognized all over the world. His journey shows that no matter how many difficulties there are… if you have passion in your mind, you will succeed.
