The official YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India has been hacked. The channel was showing an advertisement video for the cryptocurrency XRP. The XRP cryptocurrency was developed by the American company Ripple Labs. The Supreme Court uses YouTube channels to livestream hearings of cases heard by Constitution Benches and issues of public interest. Recently, the hearing of the rape and murder case of a female trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata was livestreamed on the Supreme Court’s YouTube channel.
