A female lawyer appeared in court today. He sought justice from the country’s Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna citing alleged misconduct. Interestingly, the female lawyer appeared before the CJI in casual attire. The reason behind this is also the reason why they come to court.
In fact, the female lawyer is named Renu and is from Mumbai. She has a client in Drijita Colony and she is here to handle his case. The woman lawyer said the Delhi Police took away the client and when she arrived at the police station in person, she allegedly misbehaved with her.
What are the charges against the female lawyer?
He said he was left frustrated after his phone was smashed and his laptop and formal clothes were confiscated. She said she was sleeping in her car and police did not help her. Additionally, she went to the DCP but found no one. He requested the Delhi Police Commissioner to direct him to look into the matter.
Today, she went directly to the collegium to complain to the CJI without filing any complaint, and the Supreme Court directed her to go to the High Court. In this regard, the CJI advised the woman lawyer to approach the Supreme Court Legal Services Commission and agree to take necessary action.
What did the CJI say to the lawyers?
The CJI said that filing a case directly in the Supreme Court would be to ignore the relief of the High Court. File a petition with the Delhi High Court and we will hear all your arguments.
In this regard, the female lawyer said that she has also submitted a petition to the Delhi High Court and it would be great if a hearing could be directed to be held immediately. In this regard, the CJI said that the petition should be filed before the Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, who will list the petition.
