Supreme Court refuses to postpone Group-1 Mains review in state, high court to hear petition

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to intervene in a petition seeking postponement of the Telangana Group-1 Mains exams. A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud refused to postpone the examinations, noting that students had already reached the examination center and the first examination was scheduled to begin at 2 pm today.

Mahesh Kumar Gaur, president of TPCC from Nizamabad, said we welcome the Supreme Court’s ruling. The Supreme Court’s decision that the first set of exams cannot be postponed is commendable. Both the High Court and the Supreme Court have supported the government’s efforts to provide quality senior jobs to the youth of Telangana.

He further said that with the Supreme Court verdict, students will be able to take exams happily. Thirteen years later, a perfect opportunity came. We hope students will make the most of it and gain prestigious positions. We have stood with the students in Group 1 from the beginning and have continually reassured them of our support. We reiterate that no injustice will be done to reserved category candidates due to Government Order No. 29.

Mahesh Gaur said, Being a backward community, I want to assure the students that reservation will not cause any harm. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Socialist Party of India are using the first group of students as pawns for their political interests. I hope that everyone can take the exam calmly and without worries, write well, and ensure a bright future. He also extended his best wishes and congratulations to all students taking the exam.
