Sultanpur: Encounter of the accused of robbery in a jewellery shop, three miscreants shot

Three accused of robbing a jewellery shop in Sultanpur, UP were arrested after an encounter with the police on Tuesday morning (August 3). A constable was injured in this encounter. The three miscreants, Sachin Singh, Pushpendra and Tribhuvan, were shot.

According to Sultanpur police, the three had gone to a hospital on August 28 Jewellery shop robbed of more than Rs 1.5 crore Acting on a tip-off, the police team surrounded the three at around 3:30 am, after which the accused opened fire. All three were injured in the retaliatory firing by the police. They were taken to the hospital in an injured condition.

Superintendent of Police Somen Burma said that all three were arrested after being shot in the leg in retaliatory firing. Police constable Shailesh Rajbhar also suffered a leg injury in the encounter.

Regarding the robbery at the jewellery shop, the police said that five people on two motorcycles had reached Bharatji Soni’s showroom and looted cash and jewellery at gunpoint. The accused fled from the shop within 10 minutes and fled towards Prayagraj Highway. Three accused have been arrested five days after the incident. The search for the rest is on. They will also be arrested soon.

Actually, this whole incident is from near the Godwa Chowki of Nagar Kotwali, where the police had received information about the presence of some suspects tonight. The police immediately laid siege to catch the miscreants, but instead of surrendering, the miscreants opened fire on the police, in which a constable was injured.

Meanwhile, in the retaliatory action of the police, three miscreants Sachin Singh, Pushpendra Singh and Tribhuvan alias Lala Harijan were injured. All three miscreants are residents of Amethi district. The injured constable and the three miscreants have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. It is being told that the miscreants who were caught were involved in the robbery that took place at Bharatji Soni’s shop in Thatheri Bazar of Nagar Kotwali a few days ago. At present, jewelry, cash and arms have been recovered from the miscreants.
