Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya Bhaderwah actively participated in a significant cleanliness drive at the new bus stand area in Kotli, Bhadarwah, as part of the ‘Ek Kadam Swachhata Ki Or’ campaign. This initiative involved 50 student volunteers, led by Rabia Dilmir, who aimed to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness in their community.

The students engaged in extensive cleanup efforts, tackling large dumps of both biodegradable and non-degradable waste. They also focused on clearing clogged drains in the bus stand and its surrounding areas, demonstrating their commitment to improving local hygiene and environmental conditions.

Rabia Dilmir emphasized the importance of their efforts, stating, “By volunteering for the activity, we want to send a message to keep one’s surroundings clean and hygienic.” She highlighted the beauty of Bhadarwah, noting that the increasing amounts of garbage, particularly plastic waste, pose a serious threat to the environment. The students aspire to raise public awareness about the significance of maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.

This initiative reflects a growing movement among youth in India to take responsibility for their environment and promote sustainable practices within their communities. The actions of these students not only contribute to immediate cleanliness but also serve as a call to action for others to join in the effort to protect and preserve their local environment.
