Students going to Barabanki counselling centre raped, one accused absconds, another arrested

A student who was going to a coaching centre was raped in Barabanki district of UP. Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the police registered a case against the accused Mohammad Aftab under the Indian Standards Code (BNS). The accused has been arrested by the police.

A police officer said on Tuesday that the incident took place on Monday. The 15-year-old class 11 student was heading to a coaching centre from her home. On the way, he met his acquaintance, Mohammad Aftab, 26. He tricked the girl and took her to his friend’s house in Fatehpur police station area.

There, the accused made the girl a victim of his desire. He was locked inside the house thereafter. After a while, screams and shouts were heard coming from the house. People broke the lock and entered the house. The victim was taken out. Aftab and his friend were arrested. Police have learnt.

Before the police arrived, the accused Aftab’s friend managed to escape. Kotwali Inspector DK Singh said that a main case has been registered against the accused based on the complaint of the victim’s father. The accused has been detained. The matter is under investigation.

Let us tell you that a sensational rape incident also took place in Barabanki last week. Here, a minor Dalit girl was kidnapped and raped. After this, the police tried to bring a compromise between the accused and the victim and offered an offer of Rs 1 lakh.

After the matter was handed over to the SP, the police took immediate action and the accused was immediately arrested. In this case, the local police station in-charge and a sub-inspector were punished for dereliction of duty. SP Dinesh Kumar Singh immediately suspended both of them.

Sources said that a 16-year-old Dalit girl, a resident of a village under the jurisdiction of Masauli police station in the district, was abducted from her car by Ankit Verma of the village on August 22. After that, he took her to a hotel in the city and made her a victim of his lust. During this period, the condition of the victim deteriorated.

He was first sent to Lucknow and then to Kanpur and Ghaziabad for treatment. Even during this period, the accused continued to rape the victim. Finally he fled, leaving him outside the village. Later, the victim reached the police station. But the police tried to force a settlement.
