At Srirangam Boys Higher Secondary School in Trichy, a student attacked a teacher and another student of the same class over a social media post, injuring them. This incident happened on Monday at around 3.30 pm. During this time, a student, who has been suspended by the school, suddenly entered the class where teacher Shivkumar was teaching Accounts subject. Coming inside suddenly, he first called the name of a student and attacked him with a knife. When another student tried to stop the attack, his hand was injured. After this the accused turned towards the student and hit him on the head and ran away.
Both were immediately taken to Srirangam Government Hospital where they are undergoing treatment. Teacher Shivkumar told that I have been working for the last 30 years. This was the 8th period going on. For the last few days, there was some dispute between the students of Science group and Arts group. This had been going on for some time, but I was not aware of it. The suspended student came inside, he was not wearing uniform and mask. When I asked him what he wanted, he called another student by name, took out a knife and attacked him. Then he turned towards me and attacked me, he was afraid that I would catch him. Let us tell you that the police have registered the case and started investigation.
