After the death of three UPSC aspirants due to waterlogging in the basement of IAS Study Circle RAU’s coaching center in Delhi, action is being taken against coaching institutes in Patna also. Patna administration has taken action against 138 coaching centers running in the capital. 138 coaching centers which do not meet the prescribed criteria for running coaching centers will be locked. Also, preparations are being made to impose a fine of Rs 25 thousand to Rs 1 lakh on them.

These coaching centers will be fined Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh

In fact, in Patna, District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh has formed a committee and got the coaching institutes investigated. Investigation revealed that these 138 coaching centers were running without registration. The administration has decided to close such coaching centres. Also, preparations are being made to impose a fine of Rs 25 thousand to Rs 1 lakh on those coaching centers which are not registered. The Sub-Divisional Officer has been ordered to take action against these coaching.

Out of 523 coaching centers, 138 were found ineligible.

According to the information, 936 applications for registration have been received in Patna district in the last few days and a total of 413 applications have been registered. When 523 of these applications were examined, 138 institutions were found ineligible. Patna DM has also ordered immediate investigation of 339 pending applications. Patna DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh found during investigation that these coaching institutes do not meet the standards set by the government. After this, orders were issued to close them.

7 teams are investigating coaching centers

Sub-divisional officers have also been instructed to investigate whether these 138 coaching institutes found ineligible for registration are being operated illegally. If operations are being carried out illegally, sub-divisional officers were instructed to take legal action. Seven teams have been formed by the district administration to investigate the coaching, which include six sub-division level and one district level team.

What are the standards of coaching centres?
As per the prescribed standards, no coaching institute will be established or run without a valid registration certificate. The area of ​​any coaching institute must be minimum 1 square meter per student. There should not be any restriction on entry-exit in the coaching institute and compliance with building bylaws should be ensured. Apart from this, compliance with fire safety standards should also be ensured in coaching institutes. Coaching center operators will be given three chances to fulfill these standards, if the standards are not followed even in the third time, their registration will also be cancelled. Let us tell you that the DM has asked the District Education Officer to quickly complete the investigation of 339 pending applications and call a meeting of the Registration Committee.

The accident took place in Delhi on 27th July.

On July 27, three UPSC aspirants died due to water logging in the basement of RAU’s coaching center located in Old Rajendra Nagar after rains. Two girl students and a boy were trapped inside the basement for more than four hours; by the time they were rescued, all three were dead. At present the CBI is investigating this incident.
