We would never have known how much the industry and audience needed the pairing of Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor if their film ‘Stree’ had not been released in 2018. This film came and became popular among the audience. ‘Stree’, one of the most popular Bollywood films made in the horror-comedy genre, had great jokes, but it also had a dose of fear. The sequel of this film of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror universe has arrived and in which you are going to get a double dose of horror and comedy.

What is the story of Stree 2?

‘Stree 2’ begins from where ‘Stree’ ended. Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana) and Rudra Bhaiya (Pankaj Tiwari) are living with the other villagers in Chanderi. Even today there are discussions about women here. But people are no longer living in fear of him, rather his story is being narrated and dramas are being performed in fairs. Children are playing with the name of a woman and scaring each other. On the other hand, after a big explosion in the forest, someone has come to Chanderi, who is again going to make life difficult for the people living here.

Gradually the girls living in Chanderi have started leaving it. No one paid attention to the fact that those girls were not leaving the village of their own free will, but were disappearing. Behind them is a demon named ‘Sarkata’. On the other hand, due to the departure of the girls, Vicky’s cool daddy (Atul Srivastava) has started worrying about his son’s ‘loneliness’. Vicky is still madly in love with the unnamed unknown girl (Shraddha Kapoor) who had come to save the Chanderi residents from the woman. He thinks about her every moment and waits for her to come back someday. Meanwhile, when the moving ghost reaches Vicky and his friends. Then that girl has to return. Now everyone will come together to face the ghost.

Will watching the movie be fun or is it punishment?

The film ‘Stree 2’ has been made by director Amar Kaushik, who had directed ‘Stree’ in 2018. In this film, Amar Kaushik has included everything that made Stree a hit. From mysterious places to Chanderi village and scary ghosts, this film has everything related to horror. Its characters are as fun as they were before. From the very first scene, Kaushik takes you back to the same world of Chanderi, which you were waiting to enter for the last 6 years.

The first half of the film is amazing. Not a moment goes by when you are not laughing or in fear of seeing the moving ghost again. You get to see and hear hints of previous films, which further adds to your fun. The chemistry between Vicky and his friends is so amazing that watching them makes your heart happy. The first half has been kept quite crisp. The dose of comedy in horror is amazing. But when the story progresses in the second half, it starts to loosen up a bit.

The beginning of the second half is interesting. It has cameos by many good actors, who add to the story and Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe. However, this is also the time when you start seeing the shortcomings of Amar Kaushik’s film. Writer Niren Bhatt has tried to keep the story of ‘Stree 2’ fun. But the climax of the picture is a bit scattered. Still, if you ignore the shortcomings of the picture, the dose of laughter and horror will remain with you.

The actors did wonders

What can we say about performance? If anyone can play the role of Vicky better than Rajkumar Rao, then tell me, because it is not only difficult but impossible to imagine anyone other than him in this role. Chanderi’s Messiah Vicky is absolutely amazing. Shraddha Kapoor has again done a good job in the role of mystery girl. Her chemistry with Rajkumar is also good. Pankaj Tripathi in the role of Rudra Bhaiya and Abhishek Banerjee in the role of Jana are very funny. Both of them have played their characters well. Aparshakti Khurana is also perfect in the role of Bittu. Everyone fits their roles like a glove and doesn’t let you remember that it’s been 6 years since the last picture came out.

Apart from this, Atul Srivastava, Akash Dabhade, Mustaq Khan, Sunita Rajwar and other supporting cast have done their job well. There are great cameos in ‘Stree 2’, which will make your heart happy as well as shock you. The VFX used in the picture also suits it well. The songs of the movie are also good. Overall, ‘Stree 2’ is a fun ride of fear and fun, watching which you will enjoy and will also have scary dreams at night.
