Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s film ‘Stree 2’ was released in theatres on 15th August and since then it has been a hit in theatres. This film which has been making record-breaking earnings from the very first day, is not slowing down even after 4 weekends and it is still getting huge audience in theatres.
‘Stree 2’ once again took a big jump in the weekend and once again collected a great box office collection. Now it has become not only one of the top films of this year but also one of the all-time top films of Bollywood. And this is the first film based on a female-centric story that has been included in the list of top films.
The fourth weekend also earned a lot
Shraddha and Rajkumar’s film started the weekend with 4.84 crores on Friday. On Saturday it got more than 80% jump and the film earned 8.77 crores. Sunday also brought good growth for the film and it collected 11.40 crores. The fourth weekend of ‘Stree 2’ brought more than 25 crores collection. With this, the collection of the film has become 551 crores in 25 days.
‘Stree’ is ready to break the biggest record
Last year, Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Jawaan’ is the biggest Hindi film. The lifetime collection of the Hindi version of ‘Jawaan’ was 584 crores. After this, ‘Gadar 2’ came second with 525.70 crores and ‘Pathan’ came third with 524.53 crores.
After the fourth weekend, ‘Stree 2’ has left Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ and Shahrukh’s ‘Pathan’ far behind. Rajkumar and Shraddha’s film is now the second highest earning Hindi film.
Ready to start the 600 crore club
Till now, the collection of any Hindi film has not crossed the figure of 600 crores. Shahrukh’s ‘Jawaan’s’ India collection was 643.87 crores, but this includes the collection of the film in Tamil and Telugu along with Hindi. The collection of only the Hindi version of ‘Jawaan’ was 584 crores and it came very close to 600 crores.
‘Stree 2’ looks set to overtake ‘Jawaan’ and become the top Hindi film of all time. The way it is progressing, it has the potential to start the 600 crore club for Hindi. Apart from Kareena Kapoor’s ‘The Buckingham Murders’, there are no major Hindi releases in September.
‘Stree 2’ still has a long time to earn a lot and the way it is getting love from the audience, this film can open the doors of Hindi’s 600 crore club in the next two weeks.
