Stones pelted on Vande Bharat train in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, glasses broken in three carriages, five accused arrested

There was news of stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train at Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh. Stones were pelted on the Vande Bharat train at Bagbara railway station, resulting in broken windows of three coaches of the train, namely C2-10, C4-1 and C9-78. After receiving a tip-off, the railway police arrested five suspects.

All five accused are residents of Bagbara. The RPF Police will register a case under the Railways Act 1989 and produce the accused before the Railway Court today.

RPF officer Parveen Singh said, “Yesterday, a trial run of the Vande Bharat train was conducted, which will start running on the 16th. The plane departed from Mahasamund at 7:10 in the morning. Around 9 o’clock, some anti-social elements threw stones at a moving vehicle near Bababara. Our supporters were carrying weapons on the train. He informed. After receiving the information, the task force immediately went to investigate. At present, five suspects have been arrested. The names of the five accused are Shiv Kumar Baghel, Devendra Kumar, Jitu Pandey, Sonwani and Arjun Yadav. All five are from Baghbara. These are anti-social elements.

An RPF official said: “During investigation, it was discovered that the accused’s brother Shivkumar Baghel is a councillor. Police are taking action under Section 153 of the Railways Act. Glass windows of three coaches were broken by pelting stones.

This is not the first time that stones have been thrown at Vande Bharat trains. Even before this, stones have been thrown at Vande Bharat in many cities. A few days ago, an unidentified person threw stones at Vande Bharat Express (22346) travelling from Lucknow to Patna. The incident took place around 8.15 pm on Wednesday when the accused pelted stones near Varanasi and damaged the windows of the C5 train.

Recently in July, miscreants pelted stones at the Vande Bharat Express (22549) train from Gorakhpur to Lucknow. Many windows were shattered. The windows of coaches C1, C3 and the executive coach were broken due to the pelting of stones. Due to the sudden pelting of stones at the train, the passengers were frightened and the atmosphere in the coach was chaotic. However, no passengers were injured.

Earlier, such incidents came to light when the Vande Bharat train was launched in several states like Gujarat, Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu etc. In these cases, the suspects were also arrested in many states. Now, an incident of stone pelting on a train has also been reported in Uttar Pradesh.
