Stone pelting on Vande Bharat train going from Lucknow to Patna

An unknown person pelted stones on Vande Bharat Express (22346) going from Lucknow to Patna. This incident happened on Wednesday night near Varanasi. Railway officials said that on Wednesday night around 8.15 pm, the accused damaged the window glass of C5 of the train by throwing stones. According to the information received from Indian Railways, stones have been pelted on Vande Bharat train number 22346. The train was going from Lucknow to Patna. An unknown person threw stones on the way between Banaras and Kashi. The incident of stone pelting happened at around 20:15 at night. After the matter came to light, RPF has taken action.

The RPF staff of Banaras and Kashi cordoned off the spot and started a search operation but no clue of the accused has been found so far. To take strict action against the accused, a case has been registered at Out Post Kashi under relevant sections of the Railway Act. Its investigation is being done by Inspector-in-Charge RPF Vyasnagar. Local inputs are being collected and efforts are being made to check the cameras installed in Vande Bharat.

Such incidents have happened before

This is not the first time that stones have been pelted on the Vande Bharat train. Even before this, stones have been thrown on Vande Bharat in many cities. Recently in July, miscreants threw stones on the Vande Bharat Express (22549) going from Gorakhpur to Lucknow. Glasses of many windows were shattered in this. Glasses of windows of coach number C1, C3 and executive coach were broken due to stone pelting. Passengers got frightened due to the sudden stone pelting on the train and there was chaos inside the coach. However, no passenger was injured in this.

Earlier, when Vande Bharat train was started in many states including Gujarat, Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, such incidents have come to the fore. In these cases, the suspected accused have also been arrested in many states. Now, an incident of stone pelting on the train has come to light in UP as well.
