The situation in the villages of Bahraich is such that at least one member of most families is spending his time awake at night. People who normally go to sleep at 8 or 9 pm are now seen awake even at 10-11 pm. Due to fear of wolves, the villagers are always keeping sticks and ropes with them. Since two wolves have still not been caught, people have taken a stand to protect their children and women.

The administration team is also conducting a search operation in the Kachhar area of Bahraich. Four cages and eight thermosensor cameras have been installed in the area of Haribax Purwa village. Thermal drones are being used for monitoring. 18 teams are patrolling day and night. At present, more than 50 workers are engaged in the work of installing cages and nets.

The team of doctors is trying to catch the wolf using a tranquilizer. This operation is being led by Divisional Forest Officer Barabanki Akash Deep Baghavan and Divisional Forest Officer Bahraich. The movement of the wolf is being tracked through combing the entire area.

Let us tell you that on Sunday late night, the wolf targeted Kamla Devi, a resident of Barbigha Hardi police station area of Bahraich. A day before this, a wolf attacked the 7-year-old child of a woman named Gudiya, who had come to her maternal home in Bahraich, at 1:30 in the night. When the child’s mother shouted, the wolf ran away. At 4 in the morning, Kunnu Lal, who was sleeping in his house in Maikupurwa, was attacked by the wolf.

Kunnu Lal had told that it was 4 o’clock in the morning. I was sitting on the cot, when suddenly the wolf attacked me. He climbed on the cot and attacked my neck. If it was a child in my place, he would have picked me up. When I started screaming, everyone reached there, after that the wolf ran away. The wolf had a long mouth, it was quite agile and healthy. It was not a lame wolf. As soon as the forest department team left, it attacked.
