Police have achieved a major success in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai. The main gunman Shiv Kumar was arrested on Sunday from Nampara area in Uttar Pradesh’s Balaichi district. The arrest was made in a joint operation of the Mumbai Crime Branch and Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF). Shivkumar was arrested while trying to escape to Nepal, where the STF laid a trap and caught him in time. The STF team was led by Parmesh Kumar Shukla and Sub-Inspector Javed Alam Siddiqui was also involved in the operation.
According to police, four others – Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava Akash Srivastava and Akhilendra Pratap Singh – were also arrested for harboring Shivkumar alias Shiva Gautam and helping him escape to Nepal. With the arrest of Shiv Kumar, police hope to find out more information in the case which will help in understanding the conspiracy behind the murder.
