Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi started the election campaign of Congress by addressing a mega rally in Jammu and Kashmir. In the rally in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and RSS. During this, he talked about the state status of Jammu and Kashmir, unemployment, electricity problem and hatred spread in the country.

Rahul Gandhi said, “For the first time in the history of India, the statehood has been snatched away. A state was abolished and the rights of the people were snatched away.” He further said that the people of BJP and RSS are spreading hatred and violence in the whole country. Their job is to spread hatred and our job is to spread love. They break and we unite. Hatred can only be defeated by love. In the end, love wins. Earlier Narendra Modi used to come with his chest puffed out and now he comes bowing down. For the first time in the history of India, statehood has been snatched away.

‘The first task is to get the state status back…’

While addressing the people, Rahul Gandhi said that not only your state has been snatched away, your rights, your property, everything is being snatched away from you. In 1947, we removed the kings and formed a democratic government, we gave the Constitution to the country. Today there is a king in Jammu and Kashmir, his name is LG.

Rahul Gandhi said, “Our first step will be to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. We wanted that you get the statehood before the elections and the elections should be held after Jammu and Kashmir becomes a state. BJP does not want this, they wanted that the elections should be held first and then the statehood should be discussed. Whether BJP wants it or not, India Alliance will put pressure on them and Jammu and Kashmir will get the statehood.”

‘Jammu and Kashmir has more unemployment than the rest of the country…’

Rahul Gandhi further said, “The coalition government of the Congress Party is going to come to power here, this is going to happen. We will fill all the government vacancies and increase the age limit to 40 years, we will regularize daily wage laborers, make them permanent and we will increase their income. Our goal will be to run the government of Jammu and Kashmir by taking everyone along, everyone should be respected, we should take everyone along.

Rahul Gandhi said that the government is working only to benefit Adani and Ambani. There is more unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir than the rest of the country. Sometimes Modi ji goes under the sea, sometimes hugs a politician but he never talks about unemployment. The government of Congress and National Conference is going to come to power. We will fill all government vacancies, we will increase the age limit to 40. Daily wage laborers will be regularized.

Rahul Gandhi said, “Now Narendra Modi is afraid of the people of India and now there is little time left, we will remove Narendra Modi and BJP from the government. We want that there should be brotherhood in the country, everyone should be respected, everyone should talk nicely with each other.”

‘If our government is formed in Kashmir then…’

Talking about the beauty of the valley, Rahul Gandhi said that this is such a beautiful place, I will have to come here after the elections. You have planned a 45-minute program for me here. At least a 2-3 day program should be planned here, I don’t get to see such a place and such lovely people, at least take me around for 2-3 days.

He further said that you will see in a short time, our government will be formed in Kashmir and work will be done for you with all our heart. This is a beautiful place, Sangaldan is a very good place.
